Introduction

Hi, I am Mrs. Brown and this is my first library-related blog! I blogged for years back when it was "cool" and I even documented both of my pregnancies and their first few years of life... all online. Friends and especially family loved it, but life got busy and those blogs got left behind.

15 years later, in this new season, I see where blogging can become a part of my new career as a Library Media Specialist. I will be finishing up my second year at the end of May and it has been the best job (outside of being a wife and momma that I have ever had).

I am currently working at an elementary school south of Atlanta. On average, we have approximately 1,000 students. This number fluctuates a good bit - students move away and many are back just a few months later. I don't have a paraprofessional or media clerk assigned to me, but I do have an amazing staff that steps up when I need help.

On this blog, I want to share what has worked for me and what has failed miserably... I am learning every day what works and what doesn't.
